Otto Addo submits Black Stars squad for matches against Angola and Niger in the AFCON 2025 Qualifiers.

Otto Addo, head coach of the Black Stars, has completed and sent his team to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying tournament.

Four-time AFCON winner Ghana is in Group F for the qualifying round with Angola, Niger, and Sudan.

The Black Stars will play their first two games of the season next month on the road at Niger on September 9 and at home against Angola at Baba Yara Stadium on September 5.

Addo has chosen to put up a strong roster mostly made up of players from abroad rather than include any Ghana Premier League players in his side ahead of these important games.

This choice demonstrates the coach’s intention to create a skilled and competitive squad that may qualify for the tournament early. It will be held in Morocco the following year.

Ghana has a lot of momentum going into these qualifications after defeating Mali and the Central African Republic in back-to-back 2026 World Cup qualifiers earlier in June.

Addo and his team are motivated to continue winning in order to secure their spot in the 2025 AFCON, despite the pressure to perform well and great expectations.
