Karim Benzema voiced his wish to play with Senegalese ace Sadio Mane, and Al-Ittihad is now “pushing” to sign the player. Journalist Ben Jacobs has learned that Al-Ittihad, the 2022–2023 Saudi Pro League winners, are keen to capture former Liverpool player Mane during the current transfer window. Al-Nassr has already received an offer from Al-Ittihad, and the two teams are currently settling on the conditions of the agreement, which may take the shape of a loan or a permanent contract.
Jacobs went on to say that Al-Ittihad made the decision to pursue Mane after their star striker, former Real Madrid player Karim Benzema, indicated that he would like to play with the Senegalese national. In the next 2024–25 season, he thinks the winger’s arrival to the team will enable them to contend for the league crown once more.
Mane, who joined Saudi Arabia from Bayern Munich in the summer, had a fantastic first season. He made 46 appearances for Al-Nassr in all competitions, recording eight assists and 19 goals. The loss of Mane would be devastating to his team since he and Cristiano Ronaldo had developed a strong offensive relationship.
Ronaldo and his teammates will return to action on Thursday when they play Al-Raed in their Saudi Pro League opener, following a painful loss to Al-Hilal in the Saudi Super Cup final.
