According to reports, Manchester United executives “sense” Chelsea would make a last-ditch effort to get Jadon Sancho before the summer transfer window ends.
The England international winger had a falling out with Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag, and was declared unnecessary at Old Trafford the previous season. Although he had an appearance in the 2024 Champions League final while on loan with Borussia Dortmund, he was not included in the Three Lions’ plans for the European Championship.
Sancho supposedly had a fresh start back in Manchester, but an ear infection kept him out of United’s Premier League opener against Fulham. His withdrawal from that competition hasn’t stopped speculation about the 24-year-old’s future.
The Athletic claims that Sancho may still be moving before the next deadline expires. Giants of Ligue 1 Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly expressed interest in Sancho, but Chelsea, who signed Pedro Neto this summer and have an agreement in place for previous loanee Joao Felix, are also considering a move for the player.
Additionally, United “feel Saudi Arabian clubs could present an outlet for sales,” reportedly putting a £40 million ($52 million) asking price on Sancho’s head. Despite his 2021 arrival, he has only scored 12 goals in 83 games in all competitions with the Red Devils.
