According to reports, Paris Saint-Germain’s unpaid pay issue with Kylian Mbappe, which is worth €55 million, might see them eliminated from the Champions League.

As Kylian Mbappe contacts UEFA and LFP for alleged unpaid salaries of €55 million prior to his move to Real Madrid, PSG faces the possibility of being eliminated from the Champions League.

When his contract expired, the World Cup winner left Parc des Princes. Since then, Mbappe has joined La Liga powerhouse Real Madrid as yet another “Galactico” signing. The 25-year-old is still in communication with his previous employers despite his relationship with PSG having ended.

This is due to the France international’s assertion that the Ligue 1 champions owe him €55 million (£47 million/$61 million). According to reports, he is entitled to the last three months of his income, the whole €36 million signing bonus, plus a “ethics bonus” for the months of April through June 2024.

According to Le Monde, Mbappe’s attorneys have forwarded the case to the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) legal committee and, via the French Football Federation (FFF), to UEFA, the organization that oversees European football.

PSG may be subject to a transfer ban by the LFP legal committee until the matter is settled. Since Mbappe has invited UEFA to become involved in the situation, UEFA has the authority to revoke a club’s license in continental play. As a result, PSG may not be allowed to participate in the Champions League until the situation involving Mbappe is resolved to their satisfaction.
