Preparing for their CAF Champions League debut, Samartex 1996 has been urged by Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku to draw inspiration from the accomplishments of Medeama SC and Dreams FC.
Okraku emphasized the value of learning from the recent accomplishments of Dreams FC, who made it to the CAF Confederation Cup semifinal on their first try, and Medeama, who advanced to the group stage in their first CAF Champions League appearance, during a visit to Samartex’s training session on Tuesday.
Okraku voiced his belief that Samartex may successfully compete in Africa’s top club league and proudly represent Ghana.
Only a few months ago, your coworkers carried out this action. In terms of the Confederation of African Football Inter-club contests, it’s your chance to go above and above,” he said.
“I’m confident that this team consists of outstanding players. You are deserving delegates of our nation in Africa and real champions. It was merit that earned you the Ghana Premier League. I fully trust the technical staff to lead the way for all of you on this journey.”
As they set off on this momentous voyage, he pushed the group to maintain their resolve and focus.
This next weekend, they will go to Cameroon for the first leg, and on Sunday, August 23, they will host the second leg at the Accra Sports Stadium.
