Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu appears to have outlasted Otto Addo as the Black Stars’ coach.

According to Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, a former midfielder for Ghana, Otto Addo is not qualified to lead the Black Stars.

Following the senior national team’s 2-0 loss against Sudan in the second leg of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying tournament, he made these remarks.

The U-20 FIFA World Cup champion expressed regret in an interview for supporting Otto Addo’s reappointment, saying that it appears the former Borussia Dortmund assistant coach is not up to the coaching duties.

After the loss, Ghana’s hopes of making the tournament hang in the balance as they now sit third in Group F with two points.

In place of Chris Hughton, Otto Addo was rehired in March of this year for a 34-month contract with a potential extension of another 24-month contract.

Next month, the Black Stars will conclude their qualifying campaign against Angola and Niger. Sudan, who now sit second with seven points and were previously qualified by Ghana, will lose their final two matches against Angola and Niger.
