The match between Southampton and Bournemouth will not feature Kamaldeen Sulemana.

A persistent injury will prevent Southampton’s winger Kamaldeen Sulemana from playing in the team’s next league game on Monday, September 30 against AFC Bournemouth.

The Ghanaian winger, who suffered the injury during preseason, is still out of action, Southampton manager Russell Martin announced in a pregame press conference. Since moving from French team Stade Rennais to Southampton in January 2023, Sulemana—who has not yet played in the 2024–2025 season—has suffered from injuries.

The 22-year-old winger’s recuperation is taking longer than anticipated, as Martin noted, “We have no one coming back that we didn’t expect… Kamaldeen is still a bit away from being with us.”

Although Kamaldeen Sulemana featured in 18 games the previous season, recording two goals and an assist, Southampton has struggled to win the season as a result of his absence. He most likely won’t play in Ghana’s October doubleheader against Sudan, captained by Kwesi Appiah, in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifications.

In order to assist them improve their league form, the Saints will be anticipating his return.
