Joseph Anang, the Ghanaian goalie, records the first shutout for St. Patrick’s in the Irish League.

On Friday, Ghanaian goalkeeper Joseph Anang of St. Patrick’s Athletic in the Irish Premier Division recorded his first shutout.

In round 31 of the league, the 24-year-old was crucial to his team’s 3-0 victory over Waterford FC.

With six key saves to keep his team ahead, Anang showed off his extraordinary skill.

Anang, who transferred for free from West Ham United to St. Patrick’s earlier this summer, reached a major milestone with this clean sheet.

In the 35th minute, Zachary Elbouzedi scored the first goal for St. Patrick’s after Brandon Kavanagh’s well timed ball.

Mason Melia extended the home team’s lead four minutes later with a pinpoint assist from Jake Mulraney.

St. Patrick’s demonstrated a well-coordinated offensive as they continued to dominate the game. Thirteen minutes before the final whistle, Aidan Keena scored the game’s winning goal to seal the team’s outstanding effort.

Anang’s football career takes an intriguing turn because, although representing England in youth, he is still qualified to play for Ghana at the senior level.
