Eddie Nketiah, an English-Ghanaian forward, expressed his joy on social media following his first Crystal Palace goal, which helped the Eagles defeat Queens Park Rangers and advance to the EFL Cup round of 16.
Nketiah had to wait until his second game to score his first goal after joining the South London team during the summer transfer window from Arsenal.
At Loftus Road, the former England youth international opened the score with a short freekick from Eberechi Eze.
“Now that the line is open. “I’m excited for the upcoming round,” Nketiah posted on social media following the game.
After halftime, Sam Field pulled one back for the hosts, but Eze—playing against his old team—scored the game’s winning goal just after the hour.
Olver Glasner, the manager of Crystal Palace, was happy with Nketiah’s performance.
Eddie demonstrated it [on Saturday] against Leicester: he had some excellent finishes but some unfortunate breaks. He scored today,” he remarked.
