The Manchester United midfielder’s wife, Anna Mariana, has responded to those who have criticized him by pointing out his impressive prize collection.
The Brazil international had a Premier League match at Old Trafford against archrivals Liverpool that he would never forget. Luis Diaz put Liverpool ahead by two goals just before halftime thanks to a series of errors by Casemiro, who gave up possession of the ball in hazardous areas of the pitch.
Erik ten Hag witnessed enough during the half to realize that action needed to be taken, and young Toby Collyer was substituted for Casemiro after he was pulled off. Before Casemiro’s resignation, his disgruntled supporters had turned on him, with jeers resounding throughout the so-called “Theatre of Dreams.”
Not surprisingly, not everyone in the stands was critical of the South America. Fans ridiculed Casemiro’s error-filled performance on social media, but his partner, 32, has defended the player’s record, pointing out that it includes three La Liga titles, five Champions League crowns, a few Club World Cup victories, and awards for both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup won by United.
Many have argued that Casemiro is no longer “finished” as a top player, and others have even suggested that the player should retire. During the summer transfer window, Casemiro was connected to a move to Saudi Arabia. However, Anna Mariana is supporting her husband in his efforts to silence those who have dismissed him as a useless force.
