Jordan Ayew is happy to lead Leicester City to their first victory of the year.

After playing a key role in Leicester City’s 4-0 victory over Tranmere Rovers, Ghanaian forward Jordan Ayew has emphasized the significance of the team’s first victory of the season.

The Foxes advanced to the third round of the EFL Cup thanks to goals and assists from the 32-year-old attacker.

Ayew was making just his second appearance for the Foxes, who had drawn and lost their first two Premier League games. Ayew had joined the team during the summer transfer window.

“I’m overjoyed. I thought the audience was great, and it was crucial that we win because we haven’t triumphed since the season began. Today was crucial for us, and I believe we performed well, prevailed, scored several goals, and generally played well. This boosts our confidence for Saturday, which is a significant day for us,” he remarked following the game.

On Saturday, Leicester will host Aston Villa, Ayew’s previous team, at the King Power Stadium.

“It was something special and I praise God it went through but the most important thing is that the team we manage to get qualifying for the next phase and possibly, we will make a run,” he said as he recounted his first goal.
