GFA sends its condolences to Hans Kwoffie’s family, the late GPL star.

The late Hans Kwofie, a former star of the Premier League, was visited by his family at his birthplace of Dompim Pepesa, close to Tarkwa in the Western Region.

After visiting his family on Friday, the FA chief gave the late Medeama SC and AshantiGold cult icon his last respects.

He offered the family his condolences and assured them that the Football Association will help them in arranging a dignified send-off for the legendary football player. On June 21, 2024, Hans Kwofie, 35, died in a sad accident.

The late attacker became a cult icon at hometown club Medeama SC after an incredible career there.

He also had a distinguished career playing with AshantiGold, the three-time Premier League winners, in the Ghanaian mining town of Obuasi. In addition to playing for other Ghanaian teams including Heart of Lions, Legon Cities, and Aduana Stars, he was the 2017 Premier League top scorer.

Kwofie also played for Al-Oruba, a club in Qatar, and Smouha FC, an Egyptian team.

Alongside President Simeon-Okraku were members of the Executive Council, Chief of Staff Michael Osekre, Chairman of the Western Regional Football Association Simon Ehumah, President of Medeama SC Moses Armah, Head of Public Relations and Strategy Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe, and Operations Manager John Cudjoe.

On Saturday, August 17, 2024, in his hometown of Dompim Pepesa, the late Hans Kwofie will be put to rest.
