Jude Bellingham hopes he has a similar effect on his Real Madrid co-stars, saying he is “lost for words” by Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe.
With the stars of Brazil, France, and England playing together for the current Spanish and European champions, Madrid has a lot riding on them. Despite several unimpressive performances this season, Bellingham is still in awe of Madrid’s great names.
When asked what it’s like to play with the two in an Instagram Q&A with Versus, Bellingham responded, “It took some getting used to but now you just see them as normal people.” During the first several weeks, I had to keep telling myself that I had earned the right to be here playing with them. However, sometimes they say or do something that leaves me speechless, and I imagine that when they witness some of my abilities on the field, they feel the same way as well.”
The Spanish media has criticized the 21-year-old offensive midfielder for failing to score in his eight games for Real Madrid this season. Madrid has already lost three games in La Liga to fall three points behind Barcelona, even if they have Bellingham, Mbappe, and Vinicius at their disposal. They have also suffered an unexpected loss against Lille in the Champions League.
Madrid’s La Liga matchup with Celta is scheduled for this Saturday. They play Borussia Dortmund, Bellingham’s old team, in the Champions League three days later.
