The severity of the injury that kept Bukayo Saka out of England’s dismal Nations League loss to Greece is still a mystery to Arsenal.
The Three Lions struggled to a 2-1 defeat at Wembley Stadium, forcing the Gunners winger to be removed early in the second half. Saka had to be helped off the field by medical personnel, and Chelsea forward Noni Madueke replaced him.
Saka looked to be having trouble with a hamstring issue, which will worry fans at Emirates Stadium. Soon after his evening came to an end, he pulled up in the 49th minute after failing to stop Greece from taking the lead.
When questioned later by reporters about Saka’s condition, which is still pending a complete diagnosis, interim England manager Lee Carsley responded, “He’s being assessed.” He obviously felt something in his leg during the build-up to the first goal.”
Later on, Saka was seen leaving Wembley and making his way through the mixed zone with caution.
Saka’s health won’t be jeopardized when England plays Finland in their upcoming Nations League match on Sunday. When Mikel Arteta’s championship-chasing team returns to Premier League play on October 19 against Bournemouth, Arsenal will be hoping that their lucky number seven is restored to them in optimal condition.
