Mason Greenwood, an ex-Manchester United attacker who has gone four games without a goal, is being accused of having “disappeared” at Marseille.
After leaving Old Trafford for a fee of £27 million ($35 million), Greenwood scored five goals in his first three Ligue 1 games. He was touted as one of the summer’s biggest additions after winning Player of the Month at Stade Velodrome.
The 23-year-old’s output has decreased during international holidays, raising concerns about his ability to support the team as the one-cap England winger’s potential transition to Jamaica is still being discussed.
Examining Roberto De Zerbi’s team as a whole, Daniel Riolo, a journalist for RMC Sport and columnist for After Foot, stated: “Then, there are the stars, finally the one who arrived like a star due to August, when he was hot, it was total bliss.” However, Greenwood hasn’t been seen or heard from for three games, and we have no idea where he is. He will also need to awaken and take responsibility for his actions.
After having a stellar start to the 2024–25 season, Marseille has lost its last two Ligue 1 games by a combined five points. As a result, they are now five points behind leaders Monaco in the table and will need to find their spark again when they play again against Montpellier on October 20. Greenwood and co.
