Thanks to favorable conditions arranged with Chelsea, Raheem Sterling’s loan to Arsenal appears to have been a steal.
During Sterling’s loan at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal will only cover a small portion of his salary; Chelsea, his parent club, will bear the other costs. The Gunners will pay “significantly less than half” of Sterling’s contracted wage, according to The Athletic. Considering the player’s track record and experience, this is undoubtedly a great offer.
The weekly salary of Sterling’s Chelsea deal is reportedly between £300,000 and £350,000 ($394,000 – $460,000). In addition to Arsenal paying a relatively small amount to add a four-time Premier League winner to their roster, Chelsea is paying a premium to get rid of him.
Throughout his career to date, Sterling has played for Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, and now Arsenal, continuing to tick off the biggest clubs in the Premier League. Before joining the Gunners, there had also been speculation about a surprise transfer to Manchester United.
