Jamaica or England? Mason Greenwood’s international prospects are updated as the former Manchester United forward shines at Marseille following a £27 million move.

Mason Greenwood observes that there is still discussion about England losing out to Jamaica in terms of international commitment.

In September 2020, the 23-year-old forward earned his only senior cap for the Three Lions. After making an appearance off the bench in a Nations League match against Iceland, he was dropped from Gareth Southgate’s squad for violating Covid-19 criteria.

Since then, Greenwood has not been used because of problems off the field that disqualify him from consideration. This has given rise to rumors that he would be enticed to try his luck in Jamaica, namely with the Reggae Boyz, who now have England and Manchester United coach Steve McClaren leading them, providing an opportunity.

Greenwood has not yet submitted his “change of association request” to FIFA, according to The Daily Mail. Jamaica will be unable to choose the former Manchester United winger until that procedure is finished. Although there is obviously no urgency to pursue a new worldwide dream, time is still on his side.

Greenwood is currently concentrating on his work at the club level. After completing a summer transfer to Marseille for £27 million ($35 million), he has already scored five goals for his new French team. He would associate with players like Michail Antonio, Leon Bailey, and Omari Hutchinson if he were to join the Jamaican team.
